Mission: to maintain a crucial component of Cambodian culture for those living in the diaspora and for the American-born generations; and to provide a safe and healthy place to engage Cambodian and Cambodian American youth during after school hours. Award-winning organization founded in Lowell in 1986 by Tim Chan Thou who learned dance in the refugee camps along the Thai-Cambodian border. Angkor provides youth with in-depth instruction in Cambodian classical and folk dance; health and social education in partnership with other community agencies. Troupe has enrolled more than 1200 youth since its founding. Average stay in program is more than 3 years.(more)
