Project: HOPE brightens Child and Adolescent UnitsProject Hope brings color to Austin State Hospital A collaboration of artists will gather Saturday to brighten the lives of young patients Where others saw tan institutional walls, Brenda Logan visualized a comforting environment brightened by messages of hope. Her vision is becoming a reality this weekend on the campus of Austin State Hospital (ASH), where artists from across Texas will gather to paint colorful panels to install in the rooms of patients on the Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Services units. Brenda initially approached Debbie Trammell, volunteer coordinator at ASH, with her idea to paint murals for the childrenâ??s units. The project gained momentum when Brenda talked about the project with fellow artists in the community. Many offered not only encouragement, but their talents and time, as well. Help with Project: HOPE by calling (512) 419-2323 to donate your time, treasure or talents.
