DBSA Metro Detroit offers support, hope and education to persons diagnosed with mood disorders such as depression and bipolar disorder. We are an all-volunteer peer-run non-profit organization. We facilitate 38 monthly support group meetings for people with mood disorders, their families and friends. We have served our community since 1983. We produce a monthly newsletter, Life in Balance. DBSA also provides a monthly social and educational program called Fourth Monday Mixers. At the Mixers we serve a meal to attendees, have a presentation by a speaker about a topic relevant to depression and/or bipolar disorder and provide many hand-outs of resource material. DBSA Metro Detroit serves people in Wayne, Oakland and Macomb Counties. We have had very successful yearly educational conferences since 2000. (more)
