The Chiapas TB Control Project works to reduce the high morbidity and mortality from TB among indigenous communities in Chiapas. DOW is training community health promoters, mobilizing promoter-led TB education campaigns, and improving coordination between communities, community-based organizations, and the regional health system.
The TB Control Project builds local systems and capacity in Chiapas to provide treatment for and prevent the spread of TB, and works to ensure that local indigenous populations have equitable access to TB prevention and treatment services available throughout most other regions in Mexico through the Mexican National TB Program.
