The Human Rights Clinic, Doctors of the World-USA’s longest running project, trains and mobilizes volunteer physicians and mental health professionals in ten states to provide clinical assessment and documentation for survivors of torture and persecution seeking asylum in the United States.
The HRC now operates in ten states and has served over 2,000 clients from more than 100 countries. An affidavit from a DOW volunteer clinician attesting to evidence of torture or abuse increases an asylum applicant’s chance of success from approximately 25% to over 80%. (more)
