East Atlanta Kids Club is a free after-school mentoring and enrichment program for underprivileged youth ages 7 to 17 in southeast Atlanta. The kids are engaged in fun educational, recreational and cultural activities after-school and on Saturdays. Volunteers help the kids with homework; engage them in art, science, computer and literacy activities; join them in games such as basketball, kickball and tennis; help the teens to build communication skills and to set personal goals; join the kids on fun field trips to swim, hike, bike, check out local museums and performing arts venues, etc.
Kids Club meets on Tues. and Thurs from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm, and on most Saturdays from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm; once or twice a month, usually on a Saturday, we go on a 2-4 hour field trip.
We also offer a one-on-one mentoring program, The Friendship Connection, that offers youth the opportunity to build a close, long-term relationship with a caring adult.
