Kids club reaches out to low-income, at-risk youth with a combination of fun and educational activities. Volunteers help kids ages 7 to 17 with homework; engage them in art, science, computer and literacy activities; join them in games such as basketball, kickball and tennis; help the teens to build communication skills and to set personal goals; join the kids on fun field trips to swim, hike, bike, check out local museums and performing arts venues, etc.
Kids Club meets on Tues. and Thurs from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm, and on most Saturdays from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm; once or twice a month, usually on a Saturday, we go on a 2-4 hour field trip.
Volunteers are asked to attend at least twice a month for a minimum of 6 months. Orientations are held on alternating Mondays from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Please call 404.627.8050 to register for orientation or email EAKC Program Director Dena Peake at dpeake@eastatlantakids.org
