Literacy Volunteers of Massachusetts is about bringing people together to make a real difference. Since 1972, LVM has trained volunteers who provide free, confidential and individualized tutoring to adults in basic literacy and English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). With improved literacy skills and the confidence that comes with them, adults are able to pursue a better life and a better future for themselves, their families and their communities. LVM is the state's leading provider of literacy tutoring for adults and has a network of programs in Boston, Fitchburg, Framingham, Lowell, Methuen, Norwood, Orange/Athol, Pittsfield, Quincy, Southbridge, Stoughton and Worcester. LVM's award-winning programs serve 1,000 adults each year who need help improving their literacy or conversational English skills.
