Recognizing the risk factors that contribute to girls and women being enticed into sex work, Lotus Outreach chose local partners to implement a specialized Non-Formal Education Program. Some 35 women, girls and some male sex workers attend class daily where they learn basic skills like reading and writing as well as common life skills like raising farm animals. The life skills education program also includes the basics of running a small business. Every aspect of this curriculum is designed to enhance the participants self-reliance for years to come. Participants are eager to declare they want to become professionals, educators, nurses and doctors.
