Foster HomesSaturday, May 10, 2008 - Thursday, December 31, 2009Poodle Rescue of New England is seeking dog-savvy volunteers throughout New England (MA, NH, VT, RI, CT, ME) to provide foster care for rescued poodles. Foster volunteer responsibilities include providing a loving and safe environment, ensuring necessary medical treatment is received at Poodle Rescue’s expense & interviewing and completing home visits on prospective adopters. Foster people are assigned a mentor to help guide them through the fostering process. We often have no knowledge of a rescued dog's temperament or behavior. Foster providers must be aware of this and still be committed to providing the type of environment and support that the dog requires. Because some of our foster dogs come from less than desirable situations and may have behavioral issues, we prefer that our foster providers have a securely fenced yard and a home without children under 10 years of age. These requirements are for the safety of both the dogs and our foster providers.
