Read it Together!Read it Together! promotes reading as a shared activity. Having reading material at home determines whether or not a child will be a successful reader. We give a book to a child and pair that with an easy-to-use, one-page reading guide for his parents.
This project gives books to families who do not have the resources to buy books and who are overwhelmed by the library. By giving kids books, we can help them learn to read and practice their skills with the people that matter the most: their parents. Our practical guide meets parents where they are, showing them that it is easy to build reading into family routines like grocery shopping.
Money for BooksThe Reading Tub, Inc. works with non-profits all over the United States. We send books to schools and teachers working with at-risk readers, after-school centers for at-risk youth, and literacy outreach groups who work with homeless and economically disadvantaged families. Our goal is the same: give kids the tools they need to become successful readers.
What do they need? Books! Even at "media rate," shipping books to the people who need them the most is very expensive. It is our largest recurring need.
