One of the primary missions of the Barnaba Institute is to raise awareness about human trafficking, also referred to as modern-day slavery. The Barnaba Institute raises awareness through media interviews, lectures and professional training courses designed to inform professionals such as non-profit outreach workers, law enforcement and health care workers to identify and properly care for trafficked victims. As more victims of human trafficking and sexual exploitation are being discovered, it is imperative to have a large network of educated professionals adept at helping this unique population.
