Over 80 percent of American’s live in cities or suburbs. But TPL research reveals that as many as two in three residents of American cities do not have access to a nearby park, playground, or open space. Children in park-poor neighborhoods play in streets, alleyways, and vacant lots rather than in grassy parks, baseball diamonds, or soccer fields. Parks for People seeks to address this critical need by creating parks where they are needed most, shaping the future of American cities—and American lives—for generations to come.
