Launched in 2004, the W.E.B. Du Bois Society is a non-profit organization committed to elevating the status of being a successful student within black teen culture. Our goal is to narrow the academic achievement gap between black youth and their white and Asian peers. We accomplish this by spotlighting and rewarding academic achievement among black youth, and by engaging and empowering academically successful black youth to spearhead a movement to shift pop culture perceptions of academic excellence.(more)
