Volunteer Readers and TutorsTuesday, October 20, 2009 - Saturday, July 31, 2010United Way needs volunteers starting in Fall 2009 to spend an hour either reading to small groups of elementary children or tutoring a child in reading. Volunteers are asked to donate a minimum of 40 minutes per week working with children at Waukegan's elementary schools under the supervision of a classroom teacher. As a Reading Success volunteer you will be helping children develop their language and reading skills. Classroom readers work at Glen Flora and North schools, and reading tutors work at Clearview and Carman-Buckner schools.
